Unless you are living under a rock, you are probably well aware that the cold and flu season is officially in full force.  Staying away from those yucky germs and staying healthy is no easy feat. However, there are few key things you can do to greatly reduce you and your families chance of getting sick. As an added bonus I am going to start by showing you not only what we use, but how I keep it all organized. Score!

Here is what my “medicine cabinet” looks like. I say that because it is not technically a medicine cabinet and it is actually located in my kitchen instead of the typical bathroom.

Here it is …..

I put everything here because the kitchen is a central hub for where all things happen but also because it is up high and out of reach of little hands.

I use the entire bottom shelf for all health related items. I bought the bins, labels, and label pencil all on Amazon. I then measured my space and ordered the appropriate amount of bins that would fit.

Next I divided everything into categories.  This makes it so much easier to not only find things but to also notice when you are running low on something.

Here is a close up……

If you notice, I have 3 separate categories. First Aid, Cold & Flu, and Oils. This part is completely up to your discretion. You may add or subtract categories according to your needs. The important thing is to keep “like” items together.

Now you are probably wondering, what do you keep in all those bins? Although, I would love to detail everything I keep in my bins, I don’t want this post to be too long. I thought it would be best to pick my top 10 favorite products.

These are products that my family has used to treat and prevent colds and flu with great success. These are also products that I trust and have given my kids for nearly 14 years.

Another thing you may or may not know about me is that I almost always will treat illness naturally if possible. So everything that I am going to recommend here is all natural and drug free.

Here are my top 10 most favorite products….

I thought it would be best to start with the bins I hold everything in. These bins come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes. This was the best size that worked for me.

These labels are AMAZING! They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and they stick to pretty much anything. I use them all the time!

These are the pencils I use to write on the labels. They are erasable so that if you decide to switch things around, you can erase and reuse your labels.

If I don’t make my own, I buy this stuff here. If any of my kids even hints at getting sick, this stuff is the first thing I run to. My whole family loves it, and it works magically fast!

This stuff is good for almost anything. Bacteria, viruses, cuts and scrapes! It is basically like an all natural antibiotic without the side effects. I have even used it to treat pink eye before. One bottle usually goes a long way!

I use this pretty much anytime our immune system needs a boost.

My kids absolutely LOVE this stuff. In fact I distinctly remember my middle son being able to say the word Echinacea at around 2 years old. Clearly he was a fan!

Hands down my favorite remedy for the (throw up  version) of the flu. If anyone in my house starts puking, I immediately give them this! I also give it to everyone else in the house and it stops it right in its tracks! Amazing stuff!

We all know that extra Vit C is essential anytime you are facing an illness or feeling under the weather. These are by far my favorite! As an added bonus, they are delicious!

The sunshine vitamin! I don’t know where you live, but up here in snow country the sun can be a rare occurrence. Our immune systems NEED Vit D to be in working order, so if you can’t get it from the sun, this is a great option.

I should also note that I like it in its liquid form because your body absorbs it better that way.

Last but not least and one of my absolute favorites! I can honestly say that no one in my family has ever had a diagnosed sinus infection, and I attribute that to this glorious thing! It is basically a neti pot in the form of a syringe. It is AMAZING and you need one!

That’s it friends. These 10 things will give you a very organized and well stocked medicine cabinet. Which is not a bad thing to have this time of year!
