If you follow me at all, especially when it comes to homeschooling, you probably already know that I am a huge fan of the homeschool curriculum The Good and the Beautiful.  One of the many things I like about this curriculum is their science program….

I love it because it is well put together, my kids learn a ton, we can do it together as a family, it is extremely inexpensive, it comes with beautiful graphics, and requires little to no planning from me.  What more could you ask for?

One thing you also may or may not know is that when you receive it, it comes in a stack of loose leaf paper.  They do this because there are mini books, vocab words, and worksheets that need to be cut out or separated from the rest of the pack!  I actually really like this because it leaves the door wide open as to how you want to organize everything!  So if you have been stuck, or just want to see what others might do, here is what we do, and what works really well for us!

I really thought long and hard about this, and played around with quite a few ideas, but in the end this is what I came up with….

The first thing I did was I separated all of the mini books, vocab, and work sheets.  I took the rest of it and had my local Staples bind it all together.  It was only $5.00 and came with a see through front cover, and hard back cover. Totally worth it!

Here is what it looks like…

After getting the book bound together, I printed out copies of the worksheets, one for each child (all 3 of my kids do the science together.)

I then cut out and stapled together all of the mini books.

After that I cut out and laminated all of the vocab and picture cards. I then hole punched them and put them on a key ring.  You can read more about why I do this, and learn about our science wall here.

The next thing I did was I bought this handy dandy organizer/file folder thingy, also at Staples.  When I spotted it, I just knew it was just what I was looking for.

The back pocket fits the spiral bound book and all of the printed out works sheets just perfectly!

The next pocket is perfect for all of the mini books….

And the very front pocket has a zipper at the top and is perfect for all of the vocab and picture cards…

That is it! I all fits so nice and perfect and I absolutely love it! It is so easy to grab everything we need, whether we are sitting at the table, on the couch, or outside it is all here and ready to go!  It also stores very nicely, taking up very little space, and would be very easy for me to store away and take out at a later date!

Let me know what you think of this idea in the comments! Also feel free to share with your friends and anyone else you think may benefit.

Thanks for stopping and happy homeschooling!
